The Promotional Record of a Crown Princess Chapter 5 Part 2

Updated!

Chapter 5

Translated by: Sin :3

Terminology also added –

HuangzumuHuang is emperor and zumu is paternal grandmother (father’s mother), so basically like… esteemed royal grandmother? Kinda along those lines

Saosao – basically same as sansao and wusao, it’s another way of calling your older brother’s wife/sister-in-law

Gege – big brother

The Promotional Record of a Crown Princess Chapter 5 Part 1

HAHAHAHAHA I did not lie when I said I would still translate! Really! REALLY! (Even though it’s been like so long, but still??)

Anyways, I will update with part 2 when I finish (which I don’t think should take me too long? But as someone with a bad track record, don’t trust me).

I also haven’t really gone through and edited this, but as someone with fluent English, it should be readable. If there are any typos or whatever, please tell me and I’ll edit them when I update the page with the full chapter.

This chapter has a lot of terminologies, but if anyone has read those novels like To Be a Virtuous Wife or Demon Wang’s Golden Favorite Fei before, then they shouldn’t be anything new.

I’ll post the terms here as well just in case, but they are also placed at the end of the chapter (chapter is here)  –

Wangye – prince/marquis

Wangfei – princess (consort of a wangye)

Gongzhu – princess (born of the emperor, Gulun Gongzhu is a princess from the empress and Heshou Gongzhu is a princess from a consort or concubine)

Fuma – son-in-law of the Emperor

Junwang – “Prince of a Commandery” (something like a Duke)

Junzhu – “Princess of a Commandery” (daughter of a Qinwang, also a lady of a prince of the blood)

Qinwang – “Prince of the Blood” (brother or son of the emperor)

Fuhuang – Father emperor

Muhou – Mother empress

Gongzi – son of the nobility

Sansao san is third and sao is older brother’s wife/sister-in-law (so third sister-in-law/third older brother’s wife)

Wusao – like sansao, but because it’s wu (five) it’s fifth older brother’s wife

Black-bellied – Chinese way of saying two-faced

Many thanks to the members of Discord’s Translators’ Corner Chinese Chat.

Terminology:

Your Highness (said by Lu Li to the MC) changed to: Niangniang (meaning Queen/Empress/Imperial Concubine)

pinfei – term used for Imperial Concubine in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, ranked below fei (Consort), guifei (Noble Consorts), huang guifei (Imperial Noble Consort), and the Empress.

yatou – girl, servant girl (used deprecatingly but sometimes also as a term of endearment)

The Eight Treasures Congee/Laba congee mentioned (congee with red beans, red dates, lotus seeds, longan, nuts, etc.)  –

Also, excuse us, but we’ve added watermarks to the chapter (as well as the previous ones). RozenKristal and I would like others to appreciate the hard work that has gone into this chapter and for others to not read at those sites that steal the works of translators. It is very upsetting that others make money off of our, and other translation teams’, hard work.

Enough about that though, here’s Chapter 4~ enjoy.
